Sharon Brenner

Sharon Brenner has worked in various sectors of immigration law since 2004. She is well-versed in visa matters for artistic professionals and has spoken on the topic at creative organizations and events including SXSW, Nova Scotia Music Week, and the c/o Pop Convention in Cologne, Germany, among others. Her clientele in this area has included renowned musicians, film professionals, fashion designers, fine artists, graphic designers, photographers, and many more.

Sharon also represents clients in business-related immigration matters, from individuals to both startups and established businesses and has spoken locally and abroad at organizations and events about U.S. immigration options for startups and entrepreneurs. Her work additionally includes asylum, naturalization, and family-based immigration matters. Sharon also previously provided domestic and international refugee-based assistance with non-profit organizations including the International Rescue Committee and immigrant advocacy programs.

Sharon is a member of the California Bar, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and California Lawyers for the Arts. She received her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, during which time she was the winner of a national immigration law article writing contest for her work titled “Challenges Facing Unaccompanied Refugee Minors’ Access to Legal Aid," and was awarded a grant from the Public Interest Law Foundation for her work at the Helsinki Citizen's Assembly Refugee Advocacy and Support Program. Sharon holds B.A. degrees in African History and International Relations from the University of California, Davis and also studied at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and New York University’s program in Paris, France.
